HELLHOUND Parts Ways With Singer, Seeks Replacement
March 5, 2010San Francisco Bay Area's HELLHOUND, who reunited last year after disappearing from the thrash metal scene in the late '80s, have parted ways with vocalist Mike "Wiggins" Walish. The split was amicable and the band has stated that Mike "is a metal brother and will always be part of the HellHound family."
HELLHOUND is searching for an immediate replacement so it can complete
work on a new demo, which was in production when the split occurred. Those interested in the position are encouraged to email [email protected].
Formed in the early '80s and based in San Francisco's South Bay area, HELLHOUND developed concurrently but independently of North and East Bay acts such as LEGACY (pre-TESTAMENT),DEATH ANGEL, FORBIDDEN EVIL (pre-FORBIDDEN) and HEATHEN. HELLHOUND eventually shared stages with all these bands during the thriving thrash scene of the mid-Eighties. Before disbanding in 1988, they had played shows with the likes of SLAYER, MEGADETH and ANTHRAX.
Since its untimely demise, HELLHOUND has built a strong cult following due to CD releases of their classic demo tapes. It was after the most recent release, on Stormspell Records, that four out of the five original members decided to finally reunite and expose a new generation of metal fans to the music of HELLHOUND.
